The crashes will have several causes.Īnd thus first playing on lower settings, on a smaller map, with fewer civs is a very good approach.I understand your point. Originally posted by donald23:This is not universal. But to get support to see and confirm if it's a bug, they'll need that information.Īnd since you seem to love anecdotal evidence, I experience no late game crashes on any of my games I have played to the end. People can be reluctant (understandably) to share that on a public forum. To exclude the system, an important step is providing the dxdiag report (preferably using, since it's huge). Especially when no system specs are known. So before you can attribute it to a bug that's causing crashing with some systems, other reasons need to be excluded.Īnd thus first playing on lower settings, on a smaller map, with fewer civs is a very good approach. The crashes will have several causes.Īnd having an underpowered system or running on higher settings then are good for your system will still be among those reasons. Usually these crashes happen during AI turn, so the cause is probably a specific AI action. I saw a post where player reported about late game crash on 9900 intel, 64gb RAM. People like you are antithetical to useful discourse and as far from helpful as it gets.Originally posted by RYSHER:Late game crashes is a bug inside the game. The reason I gave up troubleshooting the issue is because of people like you, and frankly, if Firaxis had any sense of creating a helpful community, they'd ban people using the rhetoric and having the attitude you have. I really don't understand why y'all are so obsessed with diminutizing people who are having issues what do you have to gain by belittling their concerns? Seriously. Something can still be uncommon, yet more common than what it should be, and hence definitively an issue. Crash issues usually aren't this prevalent, and there are obviously SOME (like myself) where this game is literally the only game we have issues with, which really throws a wrench in the "its something wrong on your end" spin.

It's an unusually large-sized group of people, given the nature of the problem. Originally posted by Drenus:its a loud very small group of people having problems, alto they do want people to think that its 99 % who has issues, be that crashes, or the launcher There's obviously something not quite right with Civ 6, but I'm not going to waste my time arguing that with people who are determined to point the finger at anyone else. But it's more likely than what it should be.

Keep in mind, since then I have played many other games that are just-as and considerably more intensive on the CPU-side than Civ 6 and everything else runs smoothly and without issue (again, my PC is far beyond min. My suspicion is, given when the crashes always happen - on AI processing - that there is something not quite right with how Civ VI divvies processing if something in the background is also taking up CPU 'attention,' because I noticed the crashes happened more often when I was running idle Chrome tabs in the background.

My computer is far, far beyond minimum specs, and this game is literally the only game I have had crashing issues with from then-and-since, and I've run the entire gambit of cleaning mod cache and file caches, running completely modless, removing old C++ redistributables, etc.

I have had, and continue to have, crashing issues since the Ethiopia patch. I recommend not taking on more than one mod at a time and report back here and civ fanatics if and when you find one that causes a problem. And I'd agree be very cautious with mpds. In fact I"d say the overwhelming majority do not have an issue with crashing. It works for me and my friends and I hope it does for you too if you choose to purchase the game.

This can and does cause problems which you have to work through, especially with mods, which can require a trial and error process to sort out what is causing any problems you may encounter.

That and lots of us like to use Mods to enhance our gaming experiences. The hard part to all of this is that CIV VI does require a robust computer that meets and/or exceeds the minimum specifications required by the game. Most people can play both Single Player and MultiPlayer CIV VI without issues. Most people are NOT experiencing the level of crashes some report.
